The Music Center is proud to present Lea Salonga,
the award-winning singer and actress who is best known for her acclaimed portrayal of Kim in the musical Miss Saigon.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Ms. Salonga was the first Asian to play Eponine in the musical Les Misérables on Broadway. She brought to life the singing voice of the title role in Disney's Mulan ("Reflection") and Princess Jasmine's classic song "A Whole New World," in Disney's Aladdin. Her honors and awards include the Olivier, Tony®, Drama Desk, Outer Critics, Ovation, and Theatre World Awards.
In 2007, Ms. Salonga released her first studio album in seven years called "Inspired," which has been certified platinum, and finished another stint in the musical Les Misérables on Broadway, this time as Fantine. She will appear in the lead role in Broadway Asia Entertainment's international tour of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella in the Summer of 2008.
